Jamshedpur, November 14: Jamshedpur FC felicitated 628 young footballers and winners of the Jamshedpur Super League, India’s longest and largest Blue Cubs League, during a special award ceremony held at the Tata Football Academy (TFA) on Children’s Day. The celebration brought together players, parents, coaches, and the local football community to honour six months of dedication, learning, and spirited competition.
The league, which began on October 18, 2024, spanned nearly half a year and was conducted across the Archery Ground, Tinplate Sports Complex, and the JRD Tata Sports Complex Football Turf. As a key grassroots and community-development initiative of Jamshedpur FC, the Jamshedpur Super League provided a structured pathway for young footballers to play, grow, and express their passion for the game.
This season featured five age categories — Under-5, Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, and Under-13 — and brought together 70 teams, including 33 from grassroots schools and 37 from academies and clubs. A total of 628 children participated, contributing to an impressive 68 matches in U-5, 153 in U-7, 45 in U-9, 91 in U-11, and 120 in U-13.
The league also saw participation in coaches’, fathers’ and mothers’ league which was part of the community initiative. All the winners in these categories also were felicitated in the function.
In the Under-5 division, Loyola Ronaldos clinched first place, followed by Loyola Doraemons and Loyola Pikachus. In the Under-7 category, Dhatkidih Royal FC emerged champions, with Loyola Red Hawks finishing second and Tinplate Super Seven securing third place.
The Under-9 title was won by Loyola Greek Warrior, while Bistupur Biswajit Mani Mela and Tinplate Little Heroes took second and third positions respectively. In the highly competitive Under-11 category, Kishor Sangh Kadma finished first, Dhatkidih Sniper FC came second, and Kadma JMFA United FC placed third.
The Under-13 division saw Dhatkidih Lion Heart crowned champions, with Kishor Sangh Kadma securing the runner-up spot and Dhatkidih Undefeatable FC finishing third. The ceremony also celebrated champions from the special divisions.
In the Fathers’ Division, Tinplate Real Leagend’s earned first place, followed by Loyola Pochers and Loyola Legends. In the Mothers’ Division, Tinplate Stars secured the top spot, with Tinplate Queens finishing second and Loyola Queens in third.
In the Coaches’ Division, Storm Riders emerged champions, while Kingson and The Royals rounded off the podium.
The felicitation event on Children’s Day added an inspiring and joyful note to the proceedings, reminding everyone of the role sport plays in shaping confident, disciplined, and enthusiastic young individuals.
