Jamshedpur: If predictions from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) hold true, Jharkhand is unlikely to see significant changes in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours. According to officials at the IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre, the current stable weather conditions are expected to persist before a slight dip in temperature arrives later this week.
IMD’s latest satellite images and chart analysis have revealed the presence of high clouds in isolated areas, further contributing to the stabilization of night-time temperatures. “We are expecting a slight fall in minimum temperature only after the next 48 hours,” stated a duty officer at the Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
As of today, Ranchi and its surrounding areas recorded minimum temperatures hovering between 11 and 12 degrees Celsius, offering residents cool yet comfortable mornings. Jamshedpur followed closely with a slightly warmer minimum of 13 degrees Celsius. The district of Garhwa experienced the coldest conditions across the state, with a recorded minimum of 10.5 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
No Immediate Temperature Drop: The next two days will witness consistent minimum temperatures, ensuring steady conditions for outdoor activities and daily routines. High Cloud Formation: Satellite observations indicated the emergence of high-altitude clouds in some parts of the state, which may contribute to slight variations in daytime temperatures. Anticipated Cool-Down: Post the 48-hour window, meteorologists predict a marginal drop in temperatures, marking the onset of colder nights as winter gradually intensifies.
For the residents of Jamshedpur, the steady weather provides an opportunity to enjoy the seasonal chill without abrupt changes. Meanwhile, areas like Garhwa are already embracing the winter season with sub-11-degree lows.
While Jharkhand waits for the impending temperature dip, residents are advised to prepare for cooler nights by ensuring adequate warmth and protection against the cold. Experts also recommend monitoring weather updates for any sudden changes in forecast conditions.
As winter slowly tightens its grip on Jharkhand, the consistent temperature trend offers a brief respite before the chill intensifies, reminding everyone of the approaching peak winter season.
