Jamshedpur emerges overall winner at Gulmohur School’s CISCE regional yoga meet

Jamshedpur, July 19: Gulmohur High School hosted the 6th CISCE Bihar and Jharkhand Regional Yoga Competition at the Tata Auditorium, drawing enthusiastic participation from young Yoga athletes across both states. Students competed in Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (Boys and Girls) categories, representing zones from Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bhagalpur, and Patna.

With outstanding performances and yogic discipline on full display, the Jamshedpur Zone was declared the overall winner of the championship, bringing pride to the host city.

Arjun Sharma, Vice President of the East Singhbhum District Yogasana Sports Association, graced the event as Guest of Honour. He praised the participants’ dedication and described Yoga as “India’s timeless gift to the world.”

A standout moment was a captivating performance by Gulmohur alumna Tiyasha Pangiyara, a Yoga champion with accolades at zonal, state, and national levels.

The Jury of Appeal included Principal Priti Sinha, Vice Principal Archana Srivastava, and Malloy Kumar Dey, along with several experts and dignitaries from the sports fraternity. Principal Sinha presented certificates of appreciation to the panel of judges and event coordinators. Teachers accompanying student contingents were also honoured for their contribution.

Special recognition was given to Gulmohur’s sports team—Ekbal Singh, Shiwani Kumari, and Pratham—for their excellent coordination and smooth execution of the regional-level event.
