Jamshedpur: Elderly man electrocuted in Golmuri Police Line

Jamshedpur, July 29: A 65-year-old man, Khemlal Nishad, died after being electrocuted in the police line under Golmuri police station on Monday morning. Khemlal, a resident of Golmuri Garabasa, was found dead at the scene. Local residents informed his family, who quickly arrived and began accusing Tata Steel UISL of negligence.

Golmuri police took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Khemlal’s grandson, Himanshu, stated that his grandfather had been working as a water motor operator in the police line for a long time. On Monday, Khemlal had gone to work as usual. At 11 am, the family received news from the police line that he had been electrocuted. Upon reaching the scene, Himanshu found his grandfather’s body lying beside an electric wire. He had died on the spot.

A Tata Steel vehicle was present at the location, picking up the fallen wire and taking it away. Himanshu stated that his grandfather’s death was due to Tata Steel’s negligence.
