Jamshedpur, Oct 11: As the festive season of Durga Puja approaches, the district administration in Jamshedpur is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a peaceful celebration.
The law and order machinery is operating at full throttle, deploying additional police forces at strategic locations to safeguard against any untoward incidents. High-security arrangements are being made to oversee the smooth conduct of the festival.

The focus of vigilance is primarily on bustling areas like Bistupur, Sakchi, Golmuri, Telco and Jugsalai, where a daily influx of shoppers is witnessed in the lead-up to Durga Puja and Diwali.

Patrolling has been intensified since Monday and will continue late into the night to deter eve-teasers, a persistent issue in the city. This initiative aims to create a safer environment, allowing women to step out and celebrate without the fear of harassment.
The Tiger Mobile force, comprising policemen on bikes, has taken charge of critical intersections in prime locations like Bistupur and Sakchi. This strategic deployment is intended to tackle vehicle lifters and snatch gangs who often use bikes as their escape vehicles. The Tigers, numbering 40, are actively patrolling markets and temples, areas prone to snatching and other criminal activities.
The heightened security measures will persist until the end of October, extending beyond Durga Puja.
With puja fever gripping the city, security forces, including the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Home Guards, and JAP, are being deployed. Special attention is given to the outskirts of the city, including areas like Birsanagar, Govindpur, Sundernagar, Parsudih, and Bagbera. The police control room will operate round the clock.
In addition to securing urban areas, the police are placing equal emphasis on the troubled regions of Ghatsila, Potka, and Patamda blocks in East Singhbhum, where Maoist influence is prominent. Adequate security measures were being implemented to ensure a safe celebration, recognizing the unpredictable nature of Naxalites during the festive season.
Maintaining equal focus on the disturbed areas of the Ghatsila, Potka and Patamda blocks of the East Singhbhum, where Maoists influence is more than the police, the local establishment of the police has decided to provide adequate security there.
