Jamshedpur, Oct 2: Jamui MLA Shreyasi Singh on the occasion of Mahalaya inaugurated the Praveen Singh Smriti Seva Sansthan’s Malkhan Singh Durga Puja Pandal in Adityapur on October 2.

Jamshedpur, October 2: Jamui MLA Shreyasi Singh inaugurated the Malkhan Singh Durga Puja pandal, organized by Praveen Singh Smriti Seva Sansthan, on the occasion of Mahalaya in Adityapur on October 2.

The grand pandal, themed on Buddhism, offers a glimpse into Indian civilization and culture, showcasing the life of Lord Gautam Buddha. Modeled after Myanmar’s Buddha Golden Temple, the pandal features Buddha Amritvani posters and wall writings, which are expected to draw public attention. Additionally, trees have been planted around the site to promote environmental awareness.

Former MLA and Chief Patron of Praveen Seva Sansthan, Arvind Singh (also known as Malkhan Singh), emphasized that the message of “Sarva Dharma Sambhaav” (equal respect for all religions) has been well-portrayed through the pandal’s construction. Artisans from West Bengal, under Ashok Ghosh of Maa Parvati Decorator, spent two months creating the pandal, while artisan Ashok Day crafted the grand idol of Goddess Durga. Mechanical electrical decorations from West Bengal’s Chandan Nagar will be a major attraction for devotees.

More than 100 volunteers will be stationed around the pandal to assist devotees, and parking facilities will be available at Jaiprakash Udyan and the Housing Board Ground.

Arvind Singh also highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness around the Durga Puja pandal. While private sanitation workers are handling the cleaning, he noted that there is a shortage of labor from the Adityapur Municipal Corporation. However, the Municipal Corporation Administrator has assured that special cleanliness measures will be in place during the festival.
Later, devotees from across Jamshedpur and nearby areas gathered in large numbers to visit the Malkhan Singh Durga Puja pandal, marking the start of the eagerly awaited Durga Puja celebrations. The grand pandal, inaugurated earlier in the day, attracted people with its unique theme based on Buddhism, offering a glimpse into the life of Lord Gautam Buddha and Indian civilization.
With vibrant decorations and a serene atmosphere, the pandal quickly became a focal point for worshippers and visitors, setting the tone for the festive season in the region.
