DC and SSP issue joint orders for keeping peace during festivities

Jamshedpur, Sep 10: East Singhbhum district administration here on Saturday issued orders regarding the appointment of zonal officers across the city for the upkeep of law and order during Durga Puja, Deepawali, Kali Puja and Chhath Puja. The appointments would be effective from 24^th September to 10^th November, read a joint order passed by East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar.

As per the order, there would be 18 super zonal officers and 32 zonal officers to supervise the law and order situation in the city during the festive season. These officers would help maintain communication with local police officials. They would visit their respective areas on a regular basis to take stock of the situation and collect all relevant information and share it with the Composite Control Room (CCR), sources said.

In case some information is received, the officers would immediately visit the spot and take appropriate action. The officers would also establish communication with all Durga Puja committees of their area and hold peace committee meetings at the local police station every week till conclusion of the festival.

As per the administration’s orders, firecrackers, alcohol, cigarette, bidi and plastic would be banned at all puja pandals and other public places. Puja pandals should be open and not cave-like structures. Volunteers would be deputed at puja pandals for the safety of statues round the clock. All puja committees will have to get NOC from the fire department before beginning of the festivities, said the order.
