Jamshedpur, Sept 3: The Jamshedpur Puja Committee that was established in 1919, held its annual general body meeting on Sunday, September 3 at the Jamshedpur Association (Ghasi Club). The election of office bearers for the period 2023-’24 was conducted in which, Tapas Ghosh was handed charge of President. The other office bearers elected were Arunabha Das (Working President), Bimal Ray (General Secretary), Biswajit Basak (Treasurer) and SK Bhowmik (Auditor). This year, Subhash Ganguly will be the chief priest to perform Durga Puja. The meeting decided that Kathamo Puja (prayers offered to the bamboo structure to support the idols) would be performed on Thursday, September 7 and the construction of the pandal will commence on Friday, September 8.
