Jamshedpur Dog Show: Suchismita Ghosh’s German Shepherd ‘Sombor Semper Victor’ Wins Best in Show

Jamshedpur, Jan 11: The 34th and 35th FCI Dog Shows, along with the 77th and 78th JKC Championship Dog Shows, are being hosted at the Archery Ground of the J.R.D. Tata Sports Complex. Jamshedpur Dog Show brought together exceptional dogs from around the world, showcasing their elegance, training, and breeding excellence. Judged by the esteemed Francisco Salvador Janeiro from Portugal, the event celebrated winners across multiple categories on third day of the show on Saturday. Topping the accolades, Sombor Semper Victor, a German Shepherd Dog with a normal coat, owned by Suchismita Ghosh, was awarded Best in Show, Following closely, Second Best in Show was awarded to CH Red Stone’s Remo, a Beagle owned by Ratikesh Naik and Shrikant Wadhi. Third Best in Show went to AM.CH.Cambria’s Boy Wonder, a Doberman owned by Abhimanyu Reddy, while Fourth Best in Show was secured by CH.Nexon, a Lhasa Apso owned by Biplab Sreemani.

Other notable awards included Fifth Best in Show presented to Pakhi, a Pomeranian owned by Dipanwita Roy, and Sixth Best in Show which went to Cristiano Dolly Bell, an American Staffordshire Terrier owned by Mahima. The seventh and eighth spots were claimed by Cadfael’s Goddess The Spark, an American Cocker Spaniel owned by Pallab Saha, and Katelin Millefeuille, a Whippet owned by Pratick Banerjee.

Special recognition was given to homebred champions. CH Red Stone’s Remo, a Beagle, claimed Best in Show Bred in India, while CH.Nexon, the Lhasa Apso, secured the Reserved Best in Show Bred in India title. The event also highlighted promising young dogs, with Harleuin Show Kimchi Spicy for Cadfael’s, an American Cocker Spaniel owned by Pallab Saha, winning Best of Puppy in Show under the discerning judgment of C.V. Sudarsan from India. The Reserved Best of Puppy in Show was awarded to Anna, a German Shepherd Dog with a normal coat, owned by Abdul Wahab Khan.
The championship was a vibrant celebration of canine excellence, fostering a spirit of unity among dog enthusiasts and emphasizing the deep bond shared between humans and their canine companions.
Organized under the auspices of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and The Kennel Club of India, the prestigious event commenced on January 9 and will conclude on January 12.

The 35th FCI Show and 78th JKC Show, along with the prize distribution ceremony, will conclude the event on January 12.
