Jamshedpur doctors stage black badge protest

Jamshedpur, Jan. 17: Doctors in Jamshedpur along with other parts of the country under the banner of Indian Medical Association (IMA) protested against the murder of Allahabad-based doctor Ashwani Kumar Bansal on 13 January, 2017.

Doctors wore black ribbons on their arms on Tuesday during the work. Doctors of all government and private hospitals including MGM Hospital, Sadar Hospital, TMH, Brahmananda Multispecialty Hospital, Life Line, Apex Under the banner of IMA Jamshedpur wore black ribbons during the work.

Along with this a two-minute silence was observed in all the hospitals and nursing homes for the departed soul. Dr. Mritunjay Kumar, secretary, IMA Jamshedpur said, the medical protection act case is again on the boil after the death of Dr. AK Bansal for which nation-wide protest will be held on the directives of national committee. He further said, doctors are against the police�s inability to arrest the murderers of Dr. Ashwani Kumar Bansal who was shot dead by unidentified shooters while examining a patient in his cabin.

It may be noted that Dr Bansal, director of well-known Jeevan Jyoti Group of Hospitals in Allahabad, was shot from a point blank range by two unidentified assailants while he was sitting in his chamber and examining patients.
