Jamshedpur doctors deprived of salary for five months, go on strike

Jamshedpur, July 11: Junior doctors of MGM Hospital went on a strike for two days to protest delay in disbursement of their pending salaries.

OPD and indoor services were adversely affected due to the doctors’ agitation. A long queue of patients could be seen in the OPD ward.

The agitating doctors said they wanted their salaries and that no more assurance on part of the health minister would work anymore. They said the agitation would continue till the salaries are not disbursed.

Sources said the junior doctors had not got their salaries for the last five months. The doctors had gone on strike on 17th June last. State Health Minister Banna Gupta had assured them of payment within 10 days. But even after 10 days, the salaries were not disbursed, alleged that doctors.
