Jamshedpur, March 17: Dr. Nagendra Singh, a surgeon at Ganga Memorial Hospital, has once again demonstrated his commitment to serving people in need. Gudiya Kumari (26), a resident of Jojobera, had a tumor weighing approximately one and a half kilos in both her ovaries, causing her persistent pain and discomfort.

Despite seeking treatment at several private hospitals, Gudiya was unable to afford the costly surgeries, which ranged from Rs 1 to 1.5 lakhs. However, upon learning about the opportunity for free surgery at Ganga Memorial Hospital, she sought help there.

Dr. Nagendra Singh, recognizing Gudiya’s dire situation, admitted her for treatment. Following examinations and surgery, it was discovered that Gudiya not only had a large ovarian tumor but also suffered from ovarian TB, leading to additional health complications.

Describing the complexity of Gudiya’s case, Dr. Nagendra Singh explained that the tumor had grown significantly, affecting nearby organs such as the intestine and urinary tract, impairing her ability to eat and urinate properly. Despite Gudiya’s physical weakness, she underwent a successful operation after receiving four units of blood transfusion, leading to her gradual recovery.

Although Gudiya is now well on the way to recovery, she will require TB medication for the next six months.

Dr. Nagendra Singh’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond Gudiya’s case, as he has performed free surgeries for over 15 thousand patients, honoring the memory of his mother.
