Jamshedpur doctor accuses dentist husband of dowry torture, lodges FIR

Jamshedpur, Feb 18: A 38 year old woman from Kadma has accused her husband, a dentist at a reputed city hospital, of torturing her for dowry. She has also accused him of subjecting her to unnatural sex and forced abortion. She has lodged a complaint with the Kadma police station in this regard.

The alleged victim, also a doctor by profession, told police she got married to her husband on 15^th December 2013 in Patna. She said her parents had spent lavishly on her marriage. After four days, she went to Bengaluru for higher studies for four years. On her return, she was allegedly tortured by her husband and in-laws for dowry, she told cops.

The alleged victim said her father later gave an additional sum of Rs 5 lakh in dowry. But the torture has continued till date, she told police. Police said an investigation was on into the allegations.
