Jamshedpur: District-Level Sahiya and CHO Conference held, health workers honoured 

Jamshedpur: The district-level Sahiya  and Community Health Officer (CHO) conference was organized at Sidhgora Town Hall to recognize and appreciate the contribution of frontline health workers in the region.

The event was attended by District Council President Bari Murmu, Vice President  Pankaj Sinha, representatives of MLAs, Project Director ITDA  Dipankar Chaudhary, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, and other district officials, including MOICs, BPMs, and health administrators. The dignitaries praised the dedication and efficiency of Sahiya s and CHOs in providing essential healthcare services.

During the conference, 10 Sahiya  workers were honoured  for their outstanding contributions to healthcare. Their efforts in maternal health, awareness campaigns, and institutional deliveries were particularly highlighted. Sahiya s play a crucial role in ensuring regular check-ups for pregnant women, educating them on nutrition and precautions, and facilitating timely institutional deliveries at health centers.

Several Sahiya s and CHOs were recognized with certificates for their dedication:  Sahiya s Honoured : Champa Hembram, Pyali Rana, China Namta, Chita Murmu, Kajal Singh, Seema Devi, Punagi Murmu, Varsha Rani Mahato, Pinky Patra, and Padma Devi.  CHOs Honoured : Deepika Kujur, Rashmi Bagay, Nirmala Singh, Barsha Baghel, Supriya Day, Navita Kumari, Shishir Purti, Shikha Rani Mahato, and Anjana Kumari.

Speakers emphasized the importance of Sahiya  and CHO participation in disease awareness campaigns and their prompt response during health emergencies. The event aimed to motivate healthcare workers to continue their exceptional service and improve community health.

The program saw the presence of ACMO Dr. Jogeshwar Prasad, District RCH Officer Dr. Ranjit Panda, District BHBD Officer, State Consultant Community Manager Akai Minj, and NHM Media Consultant Ajay Kumar Sharma from Ranchi.
