Jamshedpur: A one-day drug de-addiction awareness campaign was organized at Kerala Public School, Jawaharnagar Road No. 17, Mango, by FURIDA under the National Institute of Social Defense on Tuesday. The campaign aimed to educate students about the dangers of drug addiction and ways to stay away from substance abuse.
Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Dhalbhum, Shatabdi Majumdar, was the chief guest, while Dr. Mateen Ahmed Khan, retired professor of MGM Medical College, attended as the special guest. Addressing the students, Shatabdi Majumdar urged them to stay away from any kind of drug abuse and avoid association with individuals involved in substance use.
Dr. Mateen Ahmed Khan explained the harmful effects of drug addiction, stating that excessive drug use can ruin lives and even lead to death. He emphasized that any form of drug addiction is dangerous to health and must be avoided.
The event saw the presence of Mukhtar Alam Khan, brand ambassador of Mango Municipal Corporation, FURIDAA President Bhaskar Kumar, Kerala Public School Principal Rupa Ghosh and Usha Rajshekhar, and Aftab Alam from Azad Nagar Thana Peace Committee.
During the program, certificates were distributed to 100 students by SDO Shatabdi Majumdar to recognize their participation in the awareness drive.
