Jamshedpur, July 17: Tripartite talks were held on Monday between the district administration, Tata Steel and villagers regarding the land dispute near Dimna Dam in Mirzadih of East Singhbhum district.
During this, apart from officers of Tata Steel, Bodam CO, ADC and Bodam police station in-charge, villagers were present.
Tata Steel is staking its claim on the land around the dam while the villagers are asserting their rights on the said land.
The villagers say that they own a total of 14 acres 72 decimals of land near the dam, while Tata Steel says that in the year 2000, on the instructions of the High Court, the then Deputy Commissioner rejected the settlement of the land.
