Jamshedpur, Dec 7: Dharmendra Sonkar of Jamshedpur in East Singhbhum district and Amit Rai have been made Executive Congress presidents for Jamshedpur City and Rural, respectively while Ambuj Kumar Pandey has been assigned a similar post for the neighboring Saraikela-Kharsawan district. The list was released by Congress State in-charge Avinash Pandey, the copies of which have been sent to the party’s State President Rajesh Thakur and AICC President, National President Mallikarjun Kharge.
It may be mentioned that senior Congress leader Dharmendra Sonkar is the In-charge of the party’s Kolhan in-charge of the OBC cell. His name featured in the list of contenders for the party’s District President’s post and he was backed by National Congress leader Dr Ajoy Kumar. There are murmurs that Dharmender Sonkar had been made Jamshedpur Congress Executive President to appease Dr Ajoy Kumar and the other party members who had backed Sonkar.
Dharmendra Sonkar is counted among the tallest leaders of the Congress.
Senior District Congress leader Bablu Jha congratulated the national and state team of Congress on making Dharmendra Sonkar who is among the tallest of party leaders, the Executive President and said that Congress would emerge stronger in East Singhbhum in the forthcoming days. He said that these appointments would see to the end of factionalism.
