Jamshedpur, Oct 31: The first Prabhat Pheri (morning religious procession) dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th Prakash Parv commenced on Friday morning from Guru Nanak Nagar, Sakchi, filling the air with devotional chants of “Satnam Waheguru.”
As the procession moved through different streets, devotees joined in large numbers, singing hymns and expressing their devotion. The Gurdwara Management Committee, Sakchi, also released the schedule for the daily Prabhat Pheris to be held before the main celebration.
Gurdwara President Sardar Nishan Singh and former General Secretary Paramjit Singh Kale informed that a sub-committee had been formed to ensure smooth coordination of the events, led by Harvinder Singh, Pritpal Singh and Surjeet Singh Cheete.
According to the committee, the Prabhat Pheri will cover different localities daily — Old Kashidih and Bagan Area (Nov 1), New Kashidih and Baradwari (Nov 2), Refugee Colony and Sitaramdera (Nov 3) and Guru Nanak Nagar and Thakur Bari Road (Nov 4).
Starting each morning at 3 a.m., the Prabhat Pheri is organized with the support of Sakchi Stree Satsang Sabha and Sukhmani Sahib Keertani Jatha. “The objective is not only to announce the Prakash Parv but to spread Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message of devotion, unity and service,” said committee members.
