Jamshedpur, March 20: journalists from various newspapers held a meeting at Musabani on Wednesday, and demanded free medical treatment in the Tata Group of hospitals and Brahmanand Hospital in Jamshedpur.

Addressing the meeting, Journalist Ganesh Prasad underlined the relentless efforts journalists put into gathering news, often encountering challenging situations. He emphasized the need for journalists to have access to free medical care, given their round-the-clock commitment to their profession.

The journalists at the meeting called for the attention of political parties to this demand and stated that those parties who took up this demand for free treatment of newspersons would get their votes along with those of their families during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. There was a call for collective action from the Jamshedpur Press Club and other journalists’ organizations in this regard.

The meeting was attended by several scribes and photographers including Ramashish Singh, Ganesh Barik, Raja Karmakar, and Sushil Prasad.
