Jamshedpur: Decline in Covid active cases, focus on vaccination

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: There has been a decline in infection rate in the third wave of Covid-19 in and around Jamshedpur. However, the administration is not willing for any type of let down and is focusing on testing and vaccination. The active cases have reduced below 600.  At present there are 586 active cases at present. The recovery rate has improved to 97.78 per cent.

East Singhbhum district civil surgeon, Dr AK Lal said that the coronavirus pandemic is decreasing fast in the district.

“From the past few days, the number of fresh cases has come down rapidly. It’s been more than ten days that the new cases have come down in Jamshedpur. Death rate has also improved considerably as not a single person has succumbed to the virus for the past five days,” said Lal.

The civil surgeon pointed out the district health department is also studying as to how the Coronavirus pandemic starts diminishing.

The district health department has focussed on conducting rapid tests. The district health department has intensified the drive to conduct rapid corona tests to detect corona cases at the early stage. The move has helped to identify patients so that they can be quarantined to stop further spread.

“We have observed that thickly populated business and residential streets are susceptible to the quick spread of the virus. Moreover, people of Jamshedpur are lenient when it comes to the use of masks and following social distancing norms,” he said.
