Jamshedpur DC Warns Officials Over Public Grievance Redressal Delays

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has adopted a strict, no-tolerance attitude towards delay in resolving public grievances. The Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan on Friday directed departmental officials to ensure prompt and time-bound disposal of all applications received from members of the public.

During the weekly Public Grievance Redressal Day held at the Collectorate on Friday residents approached the district administration with a wide range of public and social issues, including land acquisition compensation, fee waivers, assault and intimidation cases, allotment of Public Distribution System (PDS) shops, road repairs, linking persons with disabilities to social security schemes, land disputes, illegal encroachments, benefits under the Maiya Samman Yojana, and drinking water-related problems.

Ranjan reviewed all applications and instructed concerned officials to take necessary action within the stipulated time frame. Ranjan reiterated the district administration’s commitment to addressing public grievances in a transparent and accountable manner. He stated that every application would be treated seriously and resolved in accordance with rules and procedures.

Ranjan warned against unnecessary delays in matters affecting public welfare and directed all departmental officers to handle complaints with sensitivity, responsibility, and urgency so that citizens receive timely relief.

Officials from various departments were present during the programme and were instructed to closely monitor the progress of grievance redressal and submit compliance reports within the prescribed period.
