Jamshedpur Elephants death: DC visits mishap spot in Musabani Forest

Jamshedpur : In response to the distressing incident of five elephants succumbing to 33 thousand volts in Benasol Uparbandha forest of Musabani, District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri visited the site to assess the situation. He has mandated a thorough investigation by the Forest Department officials.
Expressing concern over the incident, Bhajantri issued directives to both the Forest and Electricity Departments, emphasizing the need to adhere to safety standards for electrical wires in forested areas. He urged swift action to prevent such tragedies in the future, underscoring the importance of timely installation according to prescribed safety measures.
Moreover, the District Magistrate instructed the Forest Department to take control of the remaining four elephants in the vicinity and relocate them to a secure environment. The Electricity Department officials have been assigned the task of ensuring the safety of wild animals by promptly addressing the electrical infrastructure issues.
