Jamshedpur: DC Submits SIR Form, Urges People for Electoral Roll Verification

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Rajiv Ranjan on Saturday filled out and submitted his own Special Intensive Revision (SIR) form. By taking the lead, the DC aims to set an example for citizens and boost public participation in the ongoing electoral roll revision.

The district administration is executing this initiative under the directives of the Election Commission of India. The drive aims to deliver an accurate, updated, and error-free electoral roll ahead of upcoming elections.

DC Calls Accurate Voters’ List the ‘Foundation of Democracy’

Appealing directly to all eligible voters in the district, Rajiv Ranjan emphasized that an accurate electoral roll forms the very foundation of free, fair, and transparent elections. He urged citizens to complete their SIR process within the stipulated deadline.

To complete the verification, voters must:

• Fill out the prescribed enumeration form.
• Attach the required supporting documents.
• Submit the package directly to their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

“Every eligible voter plays a critical role in strengthening our democratic process. Active public participation ensures that the electoral roll reflects correct and updated information,” the Deputy Commissioner stated.

BLOs Launch Door-to-Door Verification Drive

As part of the Special Intensive Revision programme, BLOs across every polling station in East Singhbhum are currently visiting households to distribute enumeration forms and verify voter details. During this field exercise, BLOs collect updated information directly from residents to build a comprehensive, error-free voter database.

Ranjan appealed to residents to cooperate with the visiting BLOs by providing accurate information and the necessary identity documents. He noted that timely verification protects the integrity and transparency of the electoral database, further strengthening the democratic system.
