Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Thursday inspected Durga Puja pandals and the immersion ghat on the Swarnarekha River in Ghatsila block, issuing necessary directions to ensure safety and convenience of devotees during the festival.
During the inspection, the DC reviewed electrical systems, firefighting equipment, availability of drinking water, cleanliness, and crowd management measures at various pandals. He also emphasized the need for separate entry and exit routes to prevent congestion. Addressing puja committees, he urged them to place safety and comfort of devotees as their top priority and appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration in celebrating the festival in a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere.
At the immersion ghat, Satyarthi instructed officials to ensure barricading, proper lighting, availability of divers, deployment of security forces, and first aid facilities. He further stressed that traffic management and crowd control should be given special focus so that devotees do not face any inconvenience.
“The administration must remain alert and ensure round-the-clock monitoring during the festival. Preparedness for any emergency is essential,” the DC said while addressing officials on-site.
The inspection was accompanied by Ghatsila SDO Sunil Chandra, BDO Unique Sharma, and senior police officers.
