Jamshedpur DC orders swift implementation of Abua Housing Scheme

Jamshedpur: In a concerted effort to expedite the implementation of the Abua Housing Scheme, a crucial review meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri, at the Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur. The meeting, attended by key officials, focused on assessing the progress made in the scheme and providing essential guidelines for its seamless execution.

The meeting deliberated on the progress of the physical verification of applications received during the Panchayat level camps organized under the Sarkar Aapke Dwar program.

More than 1 lakh 30 thousand applications have been received from various blocks for the state-supported Abua Housing Scheme, with over 90 percent of beneficiaries already verified.

District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to expedite the physical verification process and directed Block Development Officers and Circle Officers to ensure 100% verification at the earliest.

The ‘Abua Awas Yojana,’ a flagship scheme of the state government, aims to construct three-room houses in a minimum area of 31 square meters, inclusive of a hygienic kitchen.

Houses under this scheme are mandated to be registered in the name of women in the family. In the event of the woman’s absence or demise, the registration can be in the name of the head of the family.

The Abua Housing Scheme provides a total assistance of Rs 2.00 lakh per housing unit, distributed in four installments.

Provisions are in place for additional assistance for toilet construction through convergence with Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM) or other dedicated sources.

Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, ADM Law and Order Rajeev Ranjan, District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, and other district-level officers actively participated in the meeting.

The proactive review meeting, chaired by District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri, reflects the commitment of the administration towards the successful implementation of the Abua Housing Scheme. The instructions provided aim at streamlining the verification process and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries promptly avail the benefits of the scheme. The collaborative efforts of the district officials signal a collective determination to address housing needs and contribute to the realization of the state government’s ambitious housing initiative.
