Jamshedpur DC listens to citizens’ issues on Public Grievance Redressal Day

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Tuesday heard the grievances of citizens from both urban and rural areas during the Public Grievance Redressal Day held at the DC office. Residents presented their personal, social and public-interest concerns, submitting applications and memorandums for redressal.

The Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to each applicant and instructed the concerned departmental officials to ensure necessary action within the stipulated time frame. He stressed that the aim of the programme is to provide direct solutions to citizens’ problems and to deliver timely relief.

A wide range of issues were raised during the session. Citizens highlighted problems such as land disputes, illegal occupation of property, threats to life, delay in old age pension payments, construction of Anganwadi buildings, issuance of caste certificates, drain construction and encroachment. Complaints also included builder-related grievances, requests for school fee waivers and enrollments, fraud in PMEGP loans, non-compliance of court orders, pending college admissions, and applications for permission to shoot films.

Other matters placed before the Deputy Commissioner included demands under the Mainiya Samman Yojana, payment of outstanding prisoner remuneration, domestic disputes, recruitment of watchmen, shop allotments, corrections in Aadhaar cards, and water supply issues in Chhota Govindpur.

Directing officials to act with urgency, Karn Satyarthi said, “The purpose of Public Grievance Redressal Day is to provide a direct platform to citizens and ensure that their concerns are resolved without delay. All departments must ensure prompt disposal of applications so that people can get genuine relief.”
