Jamshedpur DC Inspects Immersion Ghats Ahead of Ram Navami

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Karn Satyarthi conducted a comprehensive field inspection of key immersion ghats today to finalize administrative and safety arrangements for the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations. The DC visited Swarnarekha, Domuhani, Balughat, Bodhanwala, Green Park/DVC, Bagbera, and Shastrinagar ghats to oversee preparedness.

Safety Protocols and Infrastructure

To prevent accidents during the immersion processions, the DC issued several direct mandates to officials and event organizers:

• Structural Safety: Officials must install barricades and complete ground-leveling work at all ghat sites.

• Emergency Response: Divers and disaster response teams will remain on high alert throughout the immersion activities.

• Civic Amenities: Local civic bodies and Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) must repair approach roads and ensure adequate lighting and sanitation for devotees.

Surveillance and Crowd Control

The administration has drafted an extensive security plan to maintain law and order:

• High-Tech Monitoring: Authorities will deploy drones and video cameras for constant surveillance along procession routes and at immersion points.

• Communication: The plan includes the installation of watchtowers and public address systems to manage large crowds effectively.

• Police Presence: Significant police deployment and strategic traffic management will ensure smooth movement across the city.

Compliance for Akhara Committees

DC Satyarthi reiterated that public safety remains the top priority. He urged all Akhara committees and organizers to cooperate strictly with government guidelines, specifically regarding flag height regulations and procession timing.

Accompanying the DC during the inspection were City SP Kumar Shivashish, Dhalbhum SDO Arnav Mishra, JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, and other senior administrative and police officials.
