Jamshedpur, Oct 3: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav visited several Durga Puja pandals across city late Sunday night to keep a watch on the safety arrangements made by the puja organizers. She also reviewed the overall security arrangements made by the district police. She was accompanied by several senior officers of district administration.
During her visit, the DC noticed road jam on main roads and squares at several places and ordered the DSP Traffic to remove the roadside vendors to prevent clogging of traffic. She ordered instant removal of vehicles in case of breakdown. She said the vehicles should only be allowed to be parked in dedicated parking zones so that there is no problem in traffic regulation.
The DC convened a meeting of super zonal and zonal magistrates at Circuit House this morning and reviewed the overall arrangements made for Durga Puja. She directed all magistrates and police personnel to act promptly.
The DC sought feedback from subordinates on fire safety arrangements made by puja organizers in pandals. She said cleanliness should also be maintained around pandals. She further directed officials to keep an eye on women’s safety at sensitive and highly sensitive areas.
The meeting was also attended by SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena, ADM Law and Order Nand Kishore Lal, ADC Sourabh Sinha, NEP Director Jyotsna Singh, DCLR Ravindra Gagrai, DTO Dinesh Ranjan, Zila Panchayati Raj Officer Dr Rajnikant Mishra and DPRO Rohit Kumar.
