Jamshedpur DC directs timely action on citizens’ grievances

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Friday heard the problems of citizens during the Jan Grievance Redressal Day organised in the Collectorate office. People from both urban and rural areas arrived with applications and memoranda relating to pension, housing schemes, repair of dilapidated roads, employment, ration cards, land disputes, fee waivers, school enrollment, and other basic civic issues. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the complaints, suggestions, and demands, and instructed the concerned departmental officials to ensure that the received applications are forwarded promptly and resolved within a stipulated time frame. He stressed that timely and transparent solutions to citizens’ problems must remain a top priority of the administration.

Issuing clear directions, the Deputy Commissioner said that cases related to pension, housing, ration cards, and other essential welfare schemes should be disposed of within a fixed time limit, while proposals for road repair and infrastructure development should be prepared without delay. He further instructed that land dispute cases must be settled lawfully with urgency, ensuring that applicants are not forced to run from one office to another. He emphasised that the redressal process should be simple, transparent, and citizen-friendly.

Highlighting the importance of accountability, Satyarthi directed officials to maintain proper tracking of every application received so that monitoring and follow-up can be done effectively. He reiterated that the objective of Jan Grievance Redressal Day is to resolve issues promptly at the district level itself and to strengthen people’s trust in the administration by providing effective solutions to their day-to-day problems.
