Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Karn Satyarthi directed officials to ensure strict adherence to the guidelines of the Government of India and the Government of Jharkhand in the functioning of all blood banks. He emphasized that every process of blood donation, collection, and distribution must be carried out in a transparent and safe manner.
The Deputy Commissioner issued these instructions during an inspection of the blood banks at MGM Hospital, Sadar Hospital, and Jamshedpur Blood Bank. During the visit, he reviewed operational systems, blood storage and testing facilities, record keeping, and compliance with safety standards.

At MGM Hospital, Satyarthi instructed officials to arrange for a CB NAT machine and asked the health department to initiate necessary correspondence for its procurement. Similarly, he directed that departmental communication for establishing a blood separation unit at Sadar Hospital, Jamshedpur, be expedited.
The arrangements at Jamshedpur Blood Bank were found to be satisfactory. The Deputy Commissioner advised the management to further strengthen blood donation drives and overall operations while maintaining full compliance with government norms. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal and other officials from the Health Department were present during the inspection.
