Jamshedpur, Nov 10: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Suraj Kumar convened a meet at the District Collectorate where the Jugsalai rail over bridge (ROB) update was discussed. The DC directed representatives of Tata Steel and Nuvoco that as per decision of the previous meeting, material as part of their respective CSR were to be provided a list for which was to be acquired in coordination with the Executive Engineer of Road Construction Department pertaining to the 54 houses that had to be shifted for facilitating the construction of the ROB. The representatives were also directed to meet the labour costs to be incurred by the contractor for the job. The DC also stated that during shifting of the 54 houses the task of which has been given to an NGO all reusable material like doors and windows should be listed and put to appropriate use in the alternate settlement or rehabilitation process.
The Chief Engineer informed in the meeting that work as per the DC’s directives was progressing on the ROB project and was expected to be completed by July, 2021.
Discussion was also held on the various hitches that were coming in the way of construction work on the Stretch between Pardih and Dimna on NH 33. The DC suggested that the underground water pipelines that were creating hindrances be diverted to the roadside and asked the officials concerned to mark out land sites by the side of the road for electricity and gas lines. He directed that a survey be undertaken for land location for laying of gas lines. Suraj Kumar directed the DTO to conduct drives against parking of heavy vehicles on the road that was illegal as per NH rules.
