Jamshedpur DC and SSP inspect ghats, focus on safety of women and children

Jamshedpur : In preparation for the upcoming Chhath Puja, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal conducted thorough inspections of various Chhath Ghats in the urban area. They provided essential guidelines encompassing cleanliness, danger zone marking, electrification, traffic arrangements, and overall security measures.
Accompanied by officials including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar and SDM Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, the inspection covered key locations such as Swarnarekha Ghat, Mango Bridge, Do Muhani Ghat, Bailey Bodhanwala Ghat Bistupur, Baroda Ghat Bagbera, among others. The District Magistrate emphasized coordination among municipal bodies, police, traffic, electricity, and disaster management to ensure a seamless experience for Chhathvratis.
 Manjunath Bhajantri reviewed preparations at Chhath Ghats, focusing on cleanliness, changing room facilities, danger zones, lighting, and parking. He urged strict adherence to safety measures, especially avoiding danger zones, and extended his wishes to the community, emphasizing the celebration of the festival with faith and adherence to safety protocols.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal echoed the call for compliance with protective measures and traffic rules during the festival. He emphasized precautions during fireworks, urging consideration for the safety of all, particularly children and the elderly. A plea was made to steer clear of danger zones and marked safety limits, ensuring a secure and joyous Chhath festival for everyone.
The district administration expressed confidence in the community’s cooperation and wished all residents a joyful and safe Chhath festival celebration.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, while wishing the people a happy Chhath festival, appealed to the people to fully comply with the protective arrangements made by the district administration and police. He asked to follow the traffic rules implemented on the occasion of the festival so that there is no problem in transportation anywhere. Regarding fireworks, he said that always take full precaution and especially keep in mind the safety of children, old people and women. Do not do any work during the festival which can cause danger to others in any way. He also appealed to the people not to go near the danger zone and the increased water level and not to violate the safety limits marked at that place and not to allow anyone else to do so.
