Jamshedpur, July 9: The district administration has banned entry of inter-state vehicles without proper passes. In order to strictly implement Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla and Senior Superintendent of Police M Tamil Vanan today inspected several check posts.
During inspection, the deputed officers and police forces were apprised of the work of maintaining law and order. During this, DC also checked the visitor register and directed the deputed personnel to enter the names, address, mobile number of the visitors. Also, strict instructions were given to interstate visitors not to enter the district without vehicle pass.
All the senior officers of the district were asked to work with utmost vigilance while being alert and necessary guidelines were given regarding the health security of the magistrates and police personnel posted at the check post.
The Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police also inspected Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Uma Super Specialty Hospital. Discussion was held by both the senior officers of the district to keep a 60-bed ward in both the hospitals ready in case of an accident in a week for COVID-19.
� We have increased the level of surveillance by the district health department and taken stricter measures to check the spread of the deadly virus, the count of the COVID cases is increasing daily in double digit, leading the district administration and associated agencies to search for the reason behind the fast,� said an official.
People are violating the norms of the social distancing and evading the medical check-up while returning from other states, especially Bihar after the Unlock-1�started in June.
“In June hundreds of families went over to Bihar for attending marriage ceremonies, but while returning back to the steel city, most of them evaded to undergo the mandatory medical check-up at the checking points set up by the administration at the entry points like Pardih, Dimna, Sundarnagar and Kharkai river bridge in Bistupur,” said a senior official posted at Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC).
The official, on condition of anonymity said that those who were going to attend marriage ceremonies in various districts of Bihar returned by hiring a car from Bihar registration number, but before reaching at the Pardih �checking point, they changed another car having Jharkhand registration number.
The official further said that several of those who are returning back to the steel city from Bihar by dodging the medical check up are not only increasing the risk of spreading the Coronavirus at home but also in the locality.
