Volunteers Ensuring Law and Order During Festivities to Be Honored: DC
SSP Directs Committees to Submit Volunteer Lists for Festival Security
Jamshedpur: In preparation for the upcoming festivals of Ram Navami, Eid, Hindu New Year, and Sarhul, a high-level meeting was held at Sidhgora Town Hall under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal. The meeting focused on ensuring law and order, public convenience, and smooth traffic management during the celebrations.

The District Magistrate emphasized that festivals are an opportunity to spread joy and unity. He urged all community members to maintain a peaceful and disciplined atmosphere so that everyone, including families, can celebrate together. The administration is committed to enhancing civic amenities, and the public is encouraged to observe the festivities with restraint and order.

Committee members were instructed to ensure that no individual under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants participates in processions. Additionally, vehicles accompanying the processions should not carry alcohol. The use of loudspeakers and DJ systems should adhere to noise regulations, and the playing of any offensive or provocative songs is strictly prohibited. The administration will monitor social media closely to prevent the spread of misinformation. Any rumors should be verified with the authorities before being shared. No deviation from the designated procession routes will be permitted.

To ensure a safe and smooth celebration, the administration has directed immediate action on key civic issues, including road repairs, street lighting, pruning of tree branches, and ensuring proper water supply. A 24×7 district-level control room will be operational to monitor processions and prevent any disruptions by anti-social elements.

The Senior Superintendent of Police instructed the Central Peace Committee to submit a list of at least 50 volunteers each for Sakchi Golchakkar and Swarnrekha Ghat, while every Akhara committee must nominate 25 volunteers. These volunteers will be issued identity cards by the district administration and should also submit their contact details to their respective police stations for coordination.

Only individuals skilled in traditional martial arts should perform with sticks or traditional weapons during processions, while fire or glass-based stunts should be avoided. Adequate security personnel, including magistrates and police officers, will be deployed at sensitive locations to maintain order.
Strict guidelines were issued regarding immersion processions, including adherence to pre-approved routes and timelines. Flags should be placed at safe heights to avoid contact with electrical wires. Stunt performances at major intersections, such as Sakchi Golchakkar, should be limited to 5-7 minutes to avoid traffic congestion.
ADM (Law & Order) Aniket Sachan stated that peace committee meetings have been conducted at the police station level, with several already completed. Akhara committees and festival organizers should maintain close coordination with the local administration for a smooth and incident-free celebration. Any concerns or suggestions raised in these meetings are being addressed promptly. Citizens are advised to verify any unconfirmed news or rumors with local authorities before spreading them.
The meeting was attended by ADM (Law & Order) Aniket Sachan, Dhalbhum SDO Shatabdi Majumdar, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, City SP Kumar Shivashish, NEP Director Santosh Garg, Ghatsila SDO Sunil Chandra, along with district officials, BDOs, COs, DSPs, and police station in-charges.
