Jamshedpur: DBMS Kadma School girls off to a winning start

CBSE Cluster III volleyball championship begins

Jamshedpur, Dec 3: The three day Under -19 CBSE cluster III volleyball championship tournament got off with a grandly designed inaugural programme on Saturday, December 3. 

DBMS High School Kadma are the hosts for this three day tournament. Players in both, Boys’ and Girls’ segments are all under 19.

Seven matches were played in the league category for girls’ while 11 knock out matches were held in the boys’ category. 

Hosts DBMS Kadma girls defeated DAV Jahanabad 25/8 and 25/7 but lost to DAV Swang in their second match 25/15 and 25/12.

In other matches GGPS Bokaro beat SNSVM Ghatsila 25/6 and 25/12, DAV Swang defeated St Stephens Hazaribagh 25/15 and 25/11, Army Public School Ramgarh thrashed AE Narwapahar 25/16 and 25/16, Atomic Energey Jadugoda beat Atomic Energy Narwapahar 25/2 and 25/6, GGPS Bokaro overcame APS Ramgarh by 25/11 and 25/16.

In the boys category city schools St. Mary’s Bistupur and Jusco School Kadma lost their matches. DAV NIT beat Foundation School 25/12 and 25/9.

Atomic Energy Jadugoda defeated Army School Danapur 25/23, 23/25 and 15/7.

Holy Cross School Ghato, May Flower School Patna, St.Paul’s School Hajipur, OP Jindal School Patratu, DAV Kathara, Sainik Nalanda, Holy Cross Bokaro and ADV Nandraj Public School registered wins.     

Earlier, the Chief Guest B Chandrashekhar, Chairperson, (Finance) DBMS Board of Trustees), hoisted the flag and declared the tournament open. To add colour to the Inaugural Ceremony, a cultural programme was presented by the students of DBMS Kadma High School. The drill exercises presented by the students were also highly appreciated by all present.

Other dignitaries who attended the inaugural programme included Lalitha Chandrashekhar (Chairperson, Administration and President), Uma Ramani (Secretary), Bhuvana Krishnan (Treasurer), Gurpreet Bhambra (Principal), Suparna Roy and S Shireen (Vice Principals), Suprava Panda (Sports Coordinator) and the games teachers.
