Jamshedpur, Oct 20: Cyber frauds robbed one Imtiyaz Javed Khan of New Ranikuder, Kadma, of Rs 99,000 through fake WhatsApp message.
Police said the culprits sent a WhatsApp message to Khan on 18th October last, informing him that his electricity connection would be discontinued by 8 pm on that day in case he failed to deposit the pending bill amount. A mobile number was also given in the message. After some time, another caller took ATM card details from Khan and also made him share OTP. Soon, Rs 99,000 was deducted from Khan’s bank account.
The victim has lodged a case against unidentified persons with the Cyber Police Station.
