Jamshedpur, Aug 19: Sidhgora police here on Friday arrested one Shubham Naidu of Manifit, with a country-made gun. They caught him during an anti-crime checking near New Baradwari Park. The accused was coming towards the police barrier on a bike without registration number plate. On seeing police, he reportedly took a U-turn and tried to escape. Suspecting his intentions, police arrested him after a chase. During frisking, they found the gun in his possession along with two mobile phones.
According to Ranjeet Kumar, officer-in-charge of Sidhgora police station, the accused has no criminal history and he is being questioned regarding the source of his gun. A case under Arms Act has been registered against the accused in this connection.
