Jamshedpur, July 25. Nukkad Sabha organized by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Birsa Munda Chowk in Sakchi to protest against the violent incident in Manipur and West Bengal.
Effigies of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were also burnt in protest against the state-sponsored and planned violence in both the states of Manipur and West Bengal.
Speaking on the occasion, JP Singh expressed anguish over the incident in Manipur, saying that the so-called double engine government in the state had not only failed to protect the lives and livelihood of the people, but also had a role in sponsoring violence with vested interests to serve corporates and diluting the coverage of Article 371C of the Constitution. Manipur has been in the grip of ethnic violence since May 3 due to exploits by the ruling party aimed at electoral gains through division and politics of hatred.
