Jamshedpur Covid Vaccination: 3251 get shots on day 1, 27 dose wasted as drive begins for 18 plus

Jamshedpur, May 14: In view of the prevention of Covid 19 infection declared as a global epidemic, today, a wide-ranging vaccination campaign for people aged 18-44 started across the state. In the same sequence, a vaccination campaign was started at 13 places in East Singhbhum district, which includes 2 centers in the urban area and 1-1 centers in all the block headquarters.

District Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. M. Tamil Vanan, who visited the two vaccination centers (Loyola School and Tata Workers’ Union High School) in the urban area, encouraged the deputed medical team and the beneficiaries. 

3251 people were vaccinated on day 1 of the free drive in 13 centres of Jamshedpur. Meanwhile 27 dose were wasted at six centres during the day.

Altogether 1000 doses of Covishield and 2520 doses of Covaxin were alloted for the day of which total 3251 people got vaccinated. Remaining 340 doses will be administered later.

On the occasion, the senior officers of the district gave necessary guidelines to the deputed magistrate and police officer after observing the maintenance of law and order and the facilities available.

There was a lot of enthusiasm among the 18-44 year old beneficiaries regarding vaccination at all the centers.

During this, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the beneficiaries to take the vaccine without any prejudice and said that the vaccination campaign is being conducted under the supervision of expert doctors, so there is no cause of any concern and disturbance.

We are all seeing the happy results of vaccination of health care and frontline workers, so there is a special appeal to the people of this age group to come vaccinated boldly, looking at the stock of vaccine in the district and the efforts of the district administration and also to increase the vaccine center.

In such a situation, everyone will wait for their turn to come, with the goal of timely vaccination of all the district residents, the district administration is proceeding as per the guidelines of the state government.

The Senior Superintendent of Police appealed to the beneficiaries to continue to take all protective measures to protect against corona infection even after taking the vaccination and essentially complied with social distancing.

Seeing the large number of people in this age group, he assured that there is a proper system for maintaining law and order at all vaccine centers, only the registered people come to the center, without hindering the maintenance of law and order.

Following the social distance at the center, vaccination was done to the beneficiaries. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the beneficiaries to motivate people living in their vicinity from 18 years to 44 years, their family members and the general public to take a maximum number of vaccinations.

He told the beneficiaries that Covid vaccination is the most effective weapon to protect against coronavirus, in such a situation, everyone should take the vaccine when it comes their turn.
