Jamshedpur Covid Vaccination: 13 centres to provide free vaccine shots to 18 plus from today, mock drill conducted


Jamshedpur, May 13: The district administration is fully ready to vaccinate the age group of 18-44 years from 14 May. In this sequence, two session sites identified in the urban area Loyola School and Tata Workers’ Union High School, Kadma were inspected by the senior officials of the district today.

District Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar, SSP M. Tamil Vanan, City SP Subhash Chandra Jat, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Nitish Kumar Singh inspected both the session sites and took stock of the preparations.

Taking the information of queue management, observation room, vaccination team etc. at the vaccine centers, the District Deputy Commissioner and SSP instructed to start the vaccination in time.

He said that a total of 13 vaccination centers have been set up in the district, including two in the urban area and one each in all the blocks.

In the course of inspection, the officials also took stock of the basic facilities available at both session sites so that the people who come for vaccination do not face any kind of problem.

In this direction, there should be no disturbance at the Vaccination Center, in this direction, all the deputed officials were instructed to continue to give necessary guidelines to the people through mike and to strictly comply with social distancing.

An official of the health department said that as per Government’s guidelines those aged between 18 and above can register. “As per the guidelines received, they can choose either a government facility or a private hospital. While the vaccination will be for free of cost at government facilities,” he said.

To ensure Covid protocol, police personnel have been deployed in each centre. Arrangements have been made for facilitating vaccination for 100 people at each centre. The State government earlier announced that the government hospitals will carry out the vaccination drive at no cost.

The Union Health Ministry has announced the nationwide vaccination program to all citizens above 18 years of age.
