Jamshedpur, Dec 27: A mock drill was organized at MGM Hospital to deal with fresh Covid positive cases here on Tuesday. It was held in view of a recent directive of the Union Health Ministry asking all states and UTs to perform mock drills in order to ensure better preparedness to deal with the current Covid situation. Growing fatalities caused by the latest Omicron variant BF.7 in China have led the state authorities to leave no stone unturned in ensuring safety of citizens through a number of prevent steps.

ADM Nand Kishore Lal, who is also the administrator of MGMCH, was present during the mock drill along with Dr Balram Jha, Covid In-charge of MGMCH. The two inspected Covid wards, medical equipments and arrangements made in the hospital to deal with emergency Covid cases.

The ADM said, “All our hospitals are prepared to deal with any fresh Covid cases and if needed the facilities would be upgraded.”

Dr Jha said 200 dedicated beds were ready for Covid patients and all medical equipments were in fully functional mode.
