Jamshedpur court firing case: Cops arrest six accused, seizes pistols, bikes

Jamshedpur, April 2: Police on Sunday arrested six people involved in firing incident that took place near the Jamshedpur civil court gate under the Sitaramdera police station area on March 27.

The arrested accused include Vicky Singh Gill alias Kundi, resident of Dimna Road, Ulidih, Aman Singh alias Takla, resident of Govindpur Jojobera, Raju Paswan alias Kallu, resident of Golmuri Namda Basti, Manish Kumar Rahelu, resident of Telco Kharangajhar, Vicky Tiwari alias Prakash Tiwari of Govindpur and Goldie Singh alias Goldie Bacha, resident of Golmuri Sabarmati road.

Police also recovered two pistols, one country made pistol, three live cartridges and five bikes from their possession.

The police has sent all the arrested accused to judicial custody on Sunday evening.

It is worth mentioning that on March 27, the criminals opened fire targeting Manpreet murder accused Naveen Singh outside the court premises, but the bullet did not hit. Naveen ran inside the court premises in time, which saved his life. Criminals fired two rounds on Naveen Kumar Singh near Gate Number three of Jamshedpur court premises. Fortunately, the bullet hit his back, due to which he fell down.

City SP K Vijay Shankar informed that Navin Singh, a resident of Agrico, had gone to the civil court in connection with a case. As he was returning through gate No 3 of the court along with his friend Anil Mukhi, he found Aman, Harpreet, Kundi along with five others sitting on their bikes, apparently waiting for someone.

As soon as Harpreet saw Navin, the former shouted shoot him. Subsequently, Kundi and Aman fired shots aiming at him. But he somehow managed to enter the court premises once again to save his life.

Addressing a press meet at District Police headquarters on Sunday, SP further said that Naveen Singh is an accused in the Manpreet Singh murder case in Sidhgora. On June 8, criminals shot dead Manpreet Singh after entering inside his house in Agrico, Sidhgora. After this incident, Naveen surrendered in the court.

He further said that the same gang were involved in firing incident demanding extortion from the shopkeepers near Tinplate Roundabout under Golmuri police Station jurisdiction.

Aman Kumar Singh alias Takla, Vicky Singh Gill alias Kundi, Raj Paswan alias Kallu, Manish Kumar Rahelu fired shots in the air. Some of the accused involved in the crime are still absconding and police is conducting raids to nab them,added City SP.
