As people continue to violate the Covid-19 guidelines despite severe third wave, the Police on Monday launched an awareness-cum-enforcement drive for wearing masks in public places across the city. “I appeal to all the residents to wear masks whenever they leave their home. Together, we will defeat Corona,” said SSP M Tamil Vanan. He said that a mask is a must for everyone while stepping out of home. Mask is not a substitute for a helmet. Both are required while riding.
The drive was aimed to create awareness on social distancing and wearing masks, in market places and busy areas. And those violating this rule are being booked by the police.
