Jamshedpur Coronavirus: 16 new Covid cases, zero deaths, positivity rate 0.21%

 

Jamshedpur, June 20: Jamshedpur reported 16 new COVID-19 infections on Monday, according to East Singhbhum health bulletin. 

The declining new positive cases in the district has come as a relief for the city and also the overburdened hospitals.

Jamshedpur recorded 16 new Covid-19 cases on Monday while 24 patients recovered of the virus and zero death was reported as the number of active patients remained below 200 in East Singhbhum district, health bulletin showed. 

With this, the overall number of positive cases reached 51428 in Jamshedpur, according to East Singhbhum’s Health Department data for a 24-hour period.

The death toll stood at 1046 in Jamshedpur with zero death recorded during the day, the data showed.

On the brighter side, 24 patients recovered in Jamshedpur, with the overall recoveries surging to 50,205, it showed.

The active cases have come down to 177 in Jamshedpur, according to the official figures.

The mortality rate stood at 2.03% and recovery rate at 97.65% in Jamshedpur, the statistics showed.

Of the 16 new cases, 5 are from Mango, 4 from Kadma, 2 from Ghatsila and one each from Sonari, Sundernagar, Dumaria, Telco and  Chakulia. 

With just 16 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Monday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May.

The positivity rate stood at 0.21% on Sunday. Jamshedpur also saw 24 people recover of the virus on Monday. Of the 177 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

More than 7500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.21%.The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.21 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 7500 tests in the last 24 hours. 

The Steel City tested 7804 samples, of which, 16 turned out positive while 24 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.21 per cent, the government data showed.
