Jamshedpur, July 23: The police officer Ravi Ranjan Kumar facing accusation of sexual exploitation of a married woman, forcing the woman to have abortion, blackmailing and threatening of making viral her obscene pictures is still absconding.
Though the police department has suspended him but enough efforts has not been made to arrest him.
Even the arrest warrant has not been taken by investigating officer Sudha Tigga though directive for arresting him had been issued by DSP crime control room (CCR) Animesh Kumar Gupta. The accused is a native of Samastipur in Bihar and had got married on July 2 and had been deputed in Birsanagar thana.
The accused had in his petition to the SSP East Singhbhum M Tamilvanan in a letter informed that the accusation is baseless and false and said that the woman and her relatives used to seek money from him.
The SSP M Tamilvanan said that the police official will be arrested soon.
The victim woman has pleaded to the SSP to change the investigating officer as both were of the same batch and there is chances of favouritism. The accused police official had sexually exploited the victim in Baharagora and also kept her in Birsanagar official residence as his wife and on pressure of marriage he used to pressurise her to take divorce from her husband. In the meantime, the police official cited that his mother was unwell and went to Samastipur and got married.
