Jamshedpur, May 18: A delegation of Jamshedpur District Congress, led by East Singhbhum district president Anand Bihari Dubey handed over a letter to Jharkhand drinking water and sanitation department minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur who is in-charge of the district on civic issues.
They informed the minister about the delay in Bagbera rural water supply scheme and requested it to be completed at the earliest as there is huge water shortage in 21 panchayat areas.
They also requested for alternative arrangements for water distribution through 21 water tankers in 21 panchayats of Kitadih, Bagbeda, Ghaghidih and Karandih areas, TSUISL to provide drinking water to 2700 families. Apart from this, a demand was made to install 10 deep boring submersible pumps or (solar pump sets) in Kitadih, Harharguttu, and Ghaghidih villages.
They also demanded that Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) is responsible for the operation of Birsa Munda Town Hall, Yatri Niwas and Son Mandap and alleged that money is being taken from people in the name of convenience and requested for probe into the issue.
