Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district Congress committee organized a demonstration against inflation at Bistupur on Saturday. The outfit members took to the streets to raise slogans against inflation and soaring fuel prices. They were led by the district Congress president Vijay Khan.
Many senior party leaders were also present during the protest programme. They raised slogans against the Central government and demanded a rollback on the fuel price hikes effected several times in the last several days.
The district Congress president said the citizens were reeling under inflation. He said the middle class was the worst affected as it could not fulfill its daily needs due to high prices of essential commodities.
The Congress leaders also posted one minute video message on WhatsApp group and Facebook. They staged demonstration before all block Congress offices across the district. The agitation was led by senior vice president Sanjay Singh Azad and Brajendra Tiwary.
