Jamshedpur completes 10 lakh coronavirus tests, positivity rate falls below 1%

City reports zero deaths for third day in a row

Jamshedpur, June 13: With just 32 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Sunday dipped below 1% for the first time in two months, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May.

The positivity rate stood at 0.69% on Sunday, a dip from 1.21% the previous day. City on Sunday reported zero new COVID-19 deaths, leaving the district’s death toll unmoved for the third consecutive day. Jamshedpur also reported 32 positive cases while 342 people recovered of the virus on Sunday. 

Active Covid-19 cases in the district has dropped down to 412 after 342 patients were discharged from hospitals and Covid care centres on Sunday.  Of the 412 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur reported 32 new cases, which took its overall tally to 51,243.

More than 4500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.69%.The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum  has reached 1044 and the total cases 51243. 

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.69 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 4500 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 4656 samples, of which, 32 turned out positive while 342 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Sunday, June 13. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.69 per cent, the government data showed.

The recovery rate has climbed to 97.22% while the active cases have come down to 412.

342 positive people recovered of the virus on Sunday pushing the recovery mark to 49787. 


East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 373853 test per million in the district. 

As per the records of health department  out of 4656 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 32 were found positive.

Over 4500 COVID-19 tests, including 2160 RT-PCR and 2093 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.22% while the mortality rate is 2.04%.

So far in Jamshedpur 1000402 samples have been collected out of which 995198 have been tested and 943955 have turned out to be negative.
