Jamshedpur, April 10: Coming down heavily on the Shastrinagar violence between two communities on Sunday, April 9, BJP National Vice President and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that communal violence had marked the regime the tenure of the JMM led state government. On the Shastrinagar violence, Raghubar urged the district administration to take severe action on the guilty who stoked the communal flame but to spare the innocent who had no role in the violence. He said, “Proper justice should be meted out to all.”

Raghubar Das, in a press release stated, “Ever since the formation of the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand, preplanned communal violence are being orchestrated. Places like Lohardaga, Ranchi, Sahibganj and now Jamshedpur have been witness to such communal atrocities. Stoking communal fire with an eye on vote bank goes against the tenets of Raj Dharma.”

The former Jharkhand Chief Minister stressed that the people of the state had every right to practice their own religion sans constraints. “Raising the slogan, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ should not be a source of bother for another community.”

The BJP National Vice President, Raghubar Das contended in the press release, “Certain hardcore elements with Pakistani mentality are trying to spread lawlessness and anarchy across the state but they should be reminded that peace-loving citizens far outnumber these destructive people with beastly mentality.” Raghubar Das further said, “The ball is now on the administration’s court. It should now judge who is right and who is wrong. No one has the right to take law into one’s own hand. If the government bats for one particular community, a wave of discontent is bound to prevail in another community. I ardently urge the administration not to be swayed by the dictates of any particular party but to dispense justice as per its own sense of judgment.” (
