Jamshedpur, April 24: In response to a disturbing incident of ragging at MGM Medical College, a third-year student stands suspended from the hostel for 15 days. The decision was made following a meeting of the college’s anti-ragging cell on Tuesday, where serious concerns were addressed.
The incident came to light when a first-year student bravely filed a confidential complaint against the accused senior from New Delhi, detailing instances of obscene and indecent behavior. Prompt action was demanded, leading to the expulsion of the offending student from hostel premises.
With two reported cases of ragging within a week, university authorities, college management, and the anti-ragging cell united in their determination to address the issue. A comprehensive meeting, attended by Dhalbhum SDO, Patmada DSP, the Principal of MGM Medical College, and anti-ragging officials, was held to thoroughly investigate the matter.
Through diligent interrogation, the culprit was identified, and immediate disciplinary action was taken. It’s worth noting that there was a slight confusion due to two students sharing the same name, but this did not impede the investigation process.
Furthermore, all third-year students have been cautioned, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of ragging. They have been sternly warned that any future complaints will result in swift and direct consequences.
